Biographical/Historical Abstract:	Journalism programs began at AUC in the 1930s, but the major was phased out by 1958. The 1967 war persuaded AUC officials to reinstate the program, and a bachelor's degree program was again fully integrated by 1973. Since, AUC has produced some of the region's most notable journalists. The Journalism and Mass Communications Department underwent significant improvements in the 1980s, including curriculum improvements and expansion of the staff of the department. Combined with the Department for Television and Electronic Journalism and the Adham Center for Journalism Training and Research, AUC has become a significant contributor in journalism education.
Scope and Content Abstract:	Materials include correspondence, reports, memoranda, and/or other forms of documentation including correspondence with AUC departments and offices, department meetings, and personnel files.
