Biographical/Historical Abstract: Early language policies stated a requirement to study both English and Arabic. Arabic language instruction was continuously provided at AUC through the years, though it was administered by a number of departments, including the School of Oriental Studies, and the Center for Arabic Studies, and finally the Arabic Language Institute, which was established in 1987. Today the Institute administers Arabic instruction within the university's academic structure, offering intensive and accelerated programs, including the Center for Arabic Study Abroad, and a graduate degree in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language.
Scope and Content Abstract: Materials may include correspondence, reports, memoranda, and/or other forms of documentation pertaining to department operations and governance, course or instruction materials, personnel records, and correspondence with other AUC departments or offices.
