Historical and Biographical Note

In November 2007 the Communications and Marketing Department began sending the AUC on the Move email newsletter to keep faculty and staff up to date on the impending move to AUC's New Cairo campus. Faculty and staff were encouraged to submit questions for new campus planning offices, and answers were regularly posted. As of August 2008, the newsletter continues to be distributed daily during the academic school year, and roughly weekly during inter-session periods.

Scope and Content of the Collection

The collection includes a complete run of AUC on the Move email bulletins, sent by the Communications and Marketing Department. News announcements included information on a range of topics of interest to faculty and staff, including transportation plans, food services, child care, furniture, library and other service office operations, and administrative policies. Features also included move plans, timelines, and updates, as well as photographs of the site and maps of the campus. The newseltter was terminated in September 2008 after most university offices were relocated to the New Cairo campus.
